Update on Why Defy Stain Penetrates Better than other water-based decking stains

Due to advancements in resin technology, the Defy Exterior Wood and Deck stains have become the best penetrating water-based deck stains on the market. We love hearing from our customers who have used the Defy Stains or have questions about the application. We appreciate your input, so feel free to leave a comment below and pictures of your completed projects if you have them.

Finding a good penetrating stain is the key to a lasting finish. Penetrating stains dive into the wood to protect it from the elements as opposed to film-forming stains that stay on top of the surface and are susceptible to peeling and flaking.

Defy wood stains are some of the best stains on the market because they penetrate so well. From their original synthetic blend to the newest in stain technology, Defy Extreme, these stains give the results homeowners are looking for.

Defy Exterior Wood and Decking stains do not use traditional “paint” resins like the other deck stain manufacturers. The resin they incorporate into their stains is specially formulated for deep penetration into the wood. The resins themselves are a much smaller molecule size than traditional paint resins. This allows the Defy to soak deeper into the wood. The better the stain gets into the wood, the better the stain will perform when it comes to wear and tear. This gives Defy Stains the characteristics of a traditional oil-based stain but in an environmentally “green” friendly product.

Defy Original is a water-based finish that penetrates wood surfaces to protect against mold, mildew, and UV damage. This one of a kind wood preservative gives the performance of a high-grade stain in the convenience of a water-based product. It is user-friendly and easy to maintain.

Defy for Hardwoods is specifically designed to penetrate dense or oil-rich woods like cedar, redwood, and mahogany. Defy Hardwoods also penetrates dense surfaces so well that it is also perfect for composite decks.

Defy Extreme Stain uses Nano-Technology that improves performance 200-600%. This technology blended with their existing technology has substantially increased the durability and weather resistance of all their synthetic resin-based wood stains. The Nanoparticles act like sunscreen and when combined with the synthetic resins it provides UV protection like never before. Not only will this help with prolonging the graying, but the nanoparticles are highly resistant to mold and mildew, enabling you to retain the natural color.

When it comes to excellent wood penetration properties in a convenient water-based deck stain, Defy has the market covered. See why Defy stains penetrate better than other stains and will enhance the beauty of your deck and give it long-lasting protection for years of enjoyment.

Hey,
I have been using your Defy Extreme Wood Sealer product on yellow pine.
It seems that now all are suggesting that instead of sealer, I should use a stain. (I have your sample-Natural Pine)
In order to prepare for stain I need to know:
1) I use a stripper to remove the sealer-Yes/No
2)After the sealer is removed and the wood is prepared all I need to do is apply the stain-Yes/no
3) Do I need to seal the stain or do I just leave it as is after application?
4) About how long (years) after staining do I need think about re-stain/seal?
5) When I have to re stain how do I remove the stain?
6) If I go with stain is it applied the same as sealer?
Thank You
