Why Does Defy Perform Better Than Other Water Based Deck Stains 2024

Why Does Defy Perform Better Than Other Water-Based Deck Stains? We love hearing from our customers who have used the Defy Stains or have questions about the application. We appreciate your input, so feel free to leave a comment below and pictures of your completed projects if you have them.

In looking at the facts it is hard to deny why Defy performs better than other water-based deck stains. With the latest technology that Defy uses to formulate its products they simply outlast and outperform other water-based deck stains in the market.

Using extremely innovative techniques and blends, Defy has risen above the competition creating a class of its own. Defy makes a product for most every interior and exterior wood project. Defy Hardwood Stain, for example, is a special synthetic formula specifically designed to penetrate the dense nature of hardwoods like cedar, mahogany, redwood, and other hard-to-penetrate woods. A hardwood stain is not typically water-based but Defy has found a way to use innovative formulas and blends.

They have also formulated stain like Defy Marine and Defy Extreme that uses breakthrough technology that is unheard of and a first in the stain industry. Blending nanoparticles and high-grade resins, the Defy stain performs like sunscreen and reflects sunlight (harmful UV rays) reducing the chances of wood fading and graying. Defy also blends in a zinc additive, which is a natural mildewcide and UV inhibitor. It reduces fungal growth, unlike other water-based stains that may be prone to mold and mildew.

In a leading competitor comparison performed by Q-Labs, Defy improves performance by 200%-600% in accelerated weathering tests by using their new light stabilizing technology over four of the best-selling national brands. All of the Defy stains are VOC compliant and can be shipped to all 50 states. They are available in many natural and darker tones. Defy Stains provide leading protection that will perform better than other water-based deck stains.

I have stripped and sanded my deck. Since the entire deck has been sanded with a belt sander, should I plan on only one coat of stain similar to new wood, or should I plan on a wet on wet application. The wood itself is 5 years old.

i have just pressure washed my home which has a log siding. It has dried for two weeks. Would your defy extreme be a good product for sealing a log sided home? The wood is old and hasn’t been sealed for over 10 years.

Can anything be mixed with Defy Extreme to make it darker?
The first picture attached is Defy Butternut. We would like to know what, if anything, can be used to achieve darker colors shown in pictures 2 through 4.
